Happy Armed Forces Day 2016

President Harry S. Truman led the effort to establish a single holiday for citizens to come together and thank our military members for their patriotic service in support of our country.

On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson announced the creation of an Armed Forces Day to replace separate Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force Days. The single day celebration stemmed from the unification of the Armed Forces under the Department of Defense.

We just can't say enough to thank Martin Park, a 24-year-old former active duty Marine and now a reservist. Not only did he run his first marathon (the Tacoma City Marathon) wearing 48.5 pounds of gear and a Race For A Soldier shirt, but he raised $3,300 dollars in the process to donate to the Permission To Start Dreaming Foundation!

Come see Race For A Soldier as we support the Seattle Seahawks at the Pete Carroll 12K

For years the Seattle Seahawks have sponsored the 12th Mile of Race For A Soldier, and we're happy to be on the roster once again for the Seahawks 12K!

The event is back in its seventh year and promises to be bigger, faster, stronger and LOUDER for your Seattle Champions! The 2016 Seahawks 12K Run at The Landing will once again provide a day of fun for the whole family. The event will also feature the GLOW 5K Run/Walk that will tour The Landing and surrounding Renton neighborhoods, as well as a Half-Mile Kids Run that will be completely contained within The Landing.

We are extremely proud to re-broadcast the 2015 Prayer Breakfast featuring retired SEAL TEAM 6 Senior Chief James Hatch. Wounded while on the hunt for Cpl Bowe Bergdahl, Sr Chief James Hatch will share his story and devotion to military K-9’s, out of devotion to Spike, his charge that saved his life that fateful night.
